ÖRTFEST - 29 August 2026

Cultivate Health
&
Connection

First Edition, Ulleråker Gård, Uppsala

A Bilingual Herbalism Festival in Sweden

A first gathering to celebrate plants, and connect with each other and nature.

About the day

ÖrtFestivalen was created with one simple purpose: to celebrate medicinal plants and to share their value with everyone living in Sweden.
More than just a festival, it is is a one-day celebration to come together, exchange ideas, and share both the ancestral wisdom and the modern scientific knowledge that deepen our understanding of medicinal plants.

Throughout the day, visitors can join workshops, talks, yoga sessions, and explore local vendors offering herbal products and creations. The aim is to create a space for learning, sharing, and reconnecting with plants, the land, and the community.
It is also a welcoming introduction to the world of herbalism for children and families, and in the many ways plants have been used for wellbeing, and connection with nature.

Nature Immersion

Step away from the noise and into the living world around you.
In this hour-long nature immersion, Lisen Sundgren, Herbalist and Nature & Forest Therapy Guide, guides you into a deeper relationship with the natural world – moving beyond simply being outdoors into something more intentional and alive. Through slow, gentle movement and moments of stillness, we listen, touch, breathe and simply be, allowing nature to meet us exactly where we are.
This is a practice of presence, one that engages all our senses and invites us to remember what we so easily forget: that we are not separate from nature, but part of it.

Come as you are. No experience needed, no right or wrong way to participate. The pace is gentle and accessible to all. Wear comfortable clothes and shoes for outdoors, and bring a extra layer. You may leave feeling more grounded, more at ease, and perhaps a little more at home in yourself.
Prebook: send an email to lisen@lifebylisen.com Fee: 300 kr

Self-Pick Bouquets

At 12:30, Agnès guides you through the farm, sharing the story of Ulleråker Gård and Nordiska Örter. Discover the daily life of growing medicinal herbs, learn about the challenges and processes behind herb cultivation, and explore how plants are transformed into natural products.
All newly produced products from 2026 available for sale at the farm throughout the day!
Welcome!

Organisators

The first edition of ÖrtFestivalen was initiated by the entire summer team of Nordiska Örter, with the wish to celebrate plants and create a joyful gathering where people working with herbs from different fields could meet, share knowledge, and connect.

The original idea was even to call it the “Hippie Fest”, reflecting the playful, plant-loving spirit behind the event.

The farm being part of Ulleråker Gård, we naturally planned together to host the event, where the café will serve herbal food and drinks along the day.

Dr. Agnès Brosset - Ecologist, Farmer, Herbalist (Vision, coordination, plannification)

Is Inkpen - Artist, Singer (Upcoming visuals, plannification)

A word from Agnès

This year's theme, "Cultivate Health and Connection," reminds us that health and connection are things we actively nurture, just like a garden. By growing food, herbs, practicing mindfulness and spending time in nature, we strengthen our relationship with ourselves, our community, and the living world.
We asked several local artists to join the festival, as we believe that presence is the foundation of all meaningful connection. Whether through craft, music, tea ceremonies, yoga, breathing, or time spent immersed in nature, these experiences invite us to reconnect with ourselves, each other, and the living world.
The festival is free to make it accessible to everyone. We warmly encourage you to support the facilitators with a Swish donation and by sharing their work on social media #Örtfest.
We wish you a beautiful festival and hope to welcome many of you!
